Sussex coach Jason Gillespie has signed a new deal until the 2022 season and feels the club is progressing in the right direction.
The 44-year-old has been in charge at Hove since the start of the 2018 campaign and guided the south-coast outfit to sixth spot in Division Two of the County Championship this year.
The Australian was linked with the England coach's job but that has gone to Chris Silverwood, with Gillespie committing his future to Sussex for the next three years.
It has been a mixed bag for the former Aussie paceman since he stepped into the role, with a march to the 2018 T20 Blast final but a failure to gain promotion in the four-day game.
Nevertheless, the amiable tactician seems upbeat about the future and is happy to continue working at the club.
"I really feel we're moving in the right direction, which is really pleasing," he said. "I can't fault the efforts of all our players and coaches. Everyone wants what's best for the club, and I feel we're progressing."
"We've had some really good times together, and we've had some challenging times. We're all clear about what we're setting out to achieve and focussed on improving and developing."
